William M. Duquette, MPH

Board Member/Foundation Board 2nd Vice President

Bill Duquette is chief executive officer of South Miami Hospital, a 436-bed community hospital that is part of Baptist Health South Florida, the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the region.  With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, he leads a team of more than 2,200 employees, 1460 physicians and 150 volunteers.  Prior to being tapped as CEO, he was CEO of Homestead Hospital and has served in various administrative positions throughout his 28-year tenure with Homestead Hospital, including vice president of operations, administrative director of laboratory services and performance improvement coordinator.


In addition to his hospital leadership, Mr. Duquette is active in the community.  He is a Board member and former Chairman of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Duquette is also a member of the Rotary Club of Homestead, he is also a board member of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, the South Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center, and an Advisory Board member of Nova University.
 

Mr. Duquette earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He and his wife, Gladis, live in the Redland and have an adult daughter.
